Warpstock is pleased to announce a presentation by Lars Erdmann, who will discuss his work regarding the USB stack and his plans for updating the USB Mass Storage Device Driver.
In addition, Lars makes the following offer: Anyone having one or more USB storage devices that is/are incompatible with the current USB drivers should bring the device(s) to Warpstock to give (donate) to Lars, as he cannot buy every single storage device which does not work with USBMSD.ADD. He will then take it/them back to Germany for his use in testing and reworking USBMSD.ADD (please no other devices besides storage devices). As multi-LUN support also needs to be added, these devices (USB attached card readers; devices which appear as "fake" CD-ROMs to allow autostart under Windows, etc.) are also of interest.

An overview of the functionality in the DFSee disk analysis and recovery tool DFSee, with emphasis on new features added since 2008 (version 9 through 12). After a brief presentation there will be enough time for questions and perhaps some demos on usage of DFSee.
2) Disk partition and file system basics, with DFSee demos and Q&A
A brief overview of disk partitioning, including OS/2 LVM and GPT style, and a summary of the on-disk structures of several file systems.

I picked up this news from Esther Schindler on the POSSI forum. Stan was an old friend and a former director of Warpstock.
Stanley B. Sidlov, age 60, of Pompton Lakes, NJ, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 31, 2012.
Beloved husband of Jennifer K. Sidlov, devoted father of Lizabeth S. Sidlov. Son of Maria Sidlov and the late Joseph Sidlov. Dear brother of Susan Schwerberg, also survived by four nephews and one niece. Stanley was a computer programmer in the finance industry for many years. He was a former member and on the Board of Directors of Congregation Beth Sholom in Pompton Lakes, NJ. Stan was a person with a zest for knowledge and living and took an active interest in his families' lives. "Stan was a lover of all things that were good."
Memorial donations in memory of Stanley B. Sidlov may be made to either Georgia Tech Foundation Band or Georgia Tech Hillel, 840 McMillan Street, Atlanta, GA 30332.
