Stan Sidlov

ArchiveI picked up this news from Esther Schindler on the POSSI forum. Stan was an old friend and a former director of Warpstock.

Stanley B. Sidlov, age 60, of Pompton Lakes, NJ, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 31, 2012.

Beloved husband of Jennifer K. Sidlov, devoted father of Lizabeth S. Sidlov. Son of Maria Sidlov and the late Joseph Sidlov. Dear brother of Susan Schwerberg, also survived by four nephews and one niece. Stanley was a computer programmer in the finance industry for many years. He was a former member and on the Board of Directors of Congregation Beth Sholom in Pompton Lakes, NJ. Stan was a person with a zest for knowledge and living and took an active interest in his families' lives. "Stan was a lover of all things that were good."

Memorial donations in memory of Stanley B. Sidlov may be made to either Georgia Tech Foundation Band or Georgia Tech Hillel, 840 McMillan Street, Atlanta, GA 30332.

Warpstock 2013 hats, shirts, mugs, and other swag

ArchiveOfficial Warpstock 2013 merchandise is now available in our CafePress.com store. All items feature the official event logo, the Georgia Peach.

As an example, this great coffee mug is for sale at only $12.09, highlighting this beautiful artwork.

Larger mugs, teddy bears, tote bags, refrigerator magnets (almost computer-safe, now that floppy disks have become antiques!), and a whole host of other things you might not have even realized, and don't forget the essential mousepad (even optical mice need smooth, non-reflective surfaces for optimum performance) and BBQ apron.

Interesting facts about Oregon #6

ArchiveThe Boring Lava Field, lies within the city limits of Portland. It is an extinct Plio-Pleistocene volcanic field zone with at least 32 cinder cones and small shield volcanoes close to Kelly Butte, which is approximately 4 miles (6 km) east of downtown Portland.

The lava field is named for the town of Boring, Oregon, which is located southeast of the most dense cluster of lava vents. The zone became active approximately 2.7 million years ago, and has been extinct for about 300,000 years.
