Warpstock is the annual conference for eComStation and OS/2 users. Warpstock 2013 will be held at the Drury Inn & Suites Airport, in Atlanta, Georgia October 4 - 6, 2013. Warpstock 2013 presenters are once again preparing a number of new sessions to help you get the most out of eComStation and OS/2, including some great news about enhancements and improvements, as well as some classic topics which never seem to get enough coverage.
This year's event is dedicated to our friend and past Warpstock Treasurer, Stan Sidlov, who passed away suddenly December 31, 2012. Stan's contributions to Warpstock and to the OS/2 and eComStation user community over his many years of service will be remembered and appreciated by all for some time to come.

The Boring Lava Field, lies within the city limits of Portland. It is an extinct Plio-Pleistocene volcanic field zone with at least 32 cinder cones and small shield volcanoes close to Kelly Butte, which is approximately 4 miles (6 km) east of downtown Portland.
The lava field is named for the town of Boring, Oregon, which is located southeast of the most dense cluster of lava vents. The zone became active approximately 2.7 million years ago, and has been extinct for about 300,000 years.

Rosy was the first Asian elephant at the Portland Zoo. She was born in 1951 in the wild in Thailand, and brought to the zoo in 1953. It is likely that she was named for Portland's official nickname, the "City of Roses."
Rosy lived to the age of 42.

Portland is known as the City of Roses, supposedly coined in 1889 by attendees at an Episcopal Church convention. During the 1905 Lewis and Clark Centennial Exposition, Mayor Harry Lane suggested that the city needed a "festival of roses," which spurred the popularity of the nickname.
Our event logo this year pays homage to Portland's colorful heritage.

The earliest known use of the name, spelled Ouragon, was in a 1765 petition by Major Robert Rogers to the Kingdom of Great Britain. The term referred to the then–mythical River of the West (the Columbia River). By 1778 the spelling had shifted to Oregon.
