The problem with Vegas, of course, is the hotel cost (though the travel cost would probably be lower)...

Hmm, must have forgotten to hit submit as I had typed in a reply quite awhile ago.
There has been a bit of discussion for the last several years, since I have been involved (and maybe before that but I don't know), about having it in Las Vegas. So far though, no one since I have been involved, has submitted a bid.
Writing just off the top of my head without checking into it, I figure it may be possible to get decent guest room rates but conference room rates are likely to be prohibitive.
As with any potential location, it requires someone that wants their location to be "the" location to put together and submit a bid. If there is someone that really wants the Las Vegas location they could probably find a decent price point if they were dedicated enough to wanting it there to search for it.

I did a quick search on the Internet and turned up several hotels with meeting rooms that appear to be cheaper than the hotel for Warpstock 2007.

With Las Vegas, people have enormous choice on the hotel. It looks like it covers a range from fairly cheap to quite expensive. I predict that this trip will be bargain-priced for Asians and Europeans based on a favorable exchange rate.

But many people who won't spend much money on Warpstock may be motivated to spend some money on a Las Vegas visit.

I'll be in Las Vegas (for the first time) in January. If you read this post and you know how to visit Las Vegas on the cheap, please post a suggestion here.

Visti las Vegas site has some information on what is there. Mr. Green Since they want people to come and gamble, the hotel rates might be lower? Question

Only Las Vegas has information for business users. They have a meeting planner at the site. I will check it out. Mr. Green Others can check it out too. Cool

It is with regret that we announce the closing of the Las Vegas OS/2 User Group.

After considerable thought, the Board of Directors has recommended the dissolution of the Las Vegas OS/2 User's Group. The voting general membership in attendance at the September, 1997 meeting concurred.
ALL current paid members of the LVOS2UG will receive a FULL refund of their membership dues.

The remainder of the money in the User Group treasury will be donated to a non-profit organization after January 1, 1998.

If you have any questions please call 233-0884.

Thanks

Charles Shapiro
Treasurer/LVOS2UG
