K8055 with eCS, USB accessed from Python / Pyrex
Poster for Warpstock 2010 submitted by Uwe Hinz. will show how the USB-Board ' Velleman K8055 ' can be accessed in an easy way. Instead of writing a device driver for it, we propose to use Wim Brul`s general purpose USB-Driver ' usbecd.sys ' for a task like this. Any functionality that is for the K8055 will have to riside in a C-style DLL. Such a DLL is much easier to program than a device driver ! Once that DLL, special for K8055, is working, it can also be used together with a code wrapper. This presentation is also to point at the well-known Python-Wrapper ' Pyrex '. Pyrex helps to call the DLL functions and anyone, who can work with Python, may find it simple to do applications for ' Velleman K8055 '.
