Stan Sidlov

ArchiveI picked up this news from Esther Schindler on the POSSI forum. Stan was an old friend and a former director of Warpstock.

Stanley B. Sidlov, age 60, of Pompton Lakes, NJ, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 31, 2012.

Beloved husband of Jennifer K. Sidlov, devoted father of Lizabeth S. Sidlov. Son of Maria Sidlov and the late Joseph Sidlov. Dear brother of Susan Schwerberg, also survived by four nephews and one niece. Stanley was a computer programmer in the finance industry for many years. He was a former member and on the Board of Directors of Congregation Beth Sholom in Pompton Lakes, NJ. Stan was a person with a zest for knowledge and living and took an active interest in his families' lives. "Stan was a lover of all things that were good."

Memorial donations in memory of Stanley B. Sidlov may be made to either Georgia Tech Foundation Band or Georgia Tech Hillel, 840 McMillan Street, Atlanta, GA 30332.

I am saddened to learn of the passing of our friend and fellow OS/2 enthusiast; and, one time Warpstock Director Stan Sidlov who I have known for quite a few years as our interactions go back to the Gotham City (New York City) OS/2 Meetings which we held at the IBM's Office. I recall one evening during discussion with Stan how he was keen in pointing out to me the importance of certain developments (APIs) with respect to the Application Layer of The OS/2 Warp Operating System within the context of the banking industry.

Sincere condolences to the surviving members of his family. And, may his soul find eternal peace and rest.
