At one WarpStock (Hershey?), there was mention of having one on a cruise ship. Is this still viable? Question
The older and smaller ships that do the 3, 4, and 5 day cruises are not equipped with meeting rooms (similar to

the rooms we use in a land based hotel) in which to hold seminars. Seminars need to be held in small public rooms such as: Card Room, Library, Sports Bar, Dance Club, or other Lounges. Carnival is not willing to allocate four or five of these spaces when the ship is 'at sea' because they have other groups wishing to use them and the general

cruise guests. It would be all right if we had everyone in the large auditorium all at one time but not occupying this number of spaces for the length of time we need to present the number of seminars we expect to have. We didn't even get to the availability of LCD projectors and

screens. Celebrity did say that they have TWO available on each ship.

The newer and larger ships do have some dedicated facilities but they only do the seven, eight, nine and longer day-cruises. This increases the financial as well as time commitment and I don't think Warpees would be willing to do that. From our recollection any of the cruises we have been on which did have seminars were seven days or

longer and newer ships.
So, until such time as we can garner 400 or so people for a week long cruise, or figure out some way to charter our own boat (yikes!), this just isn't going to be possible. That doesn't make more exotic places impossible (Hawaii, US Virgin Islands, Bahamas, Rio, Tahiti, etc.), but of course, we would have to have some way of coordinating with the hotel and so forth.
