UpdCD basics - Why?

• It takes a lot of effort to make newly installed systems up-to-date

• Selective (re)install downgrades system

• Lot of nice products are not included on official installation medium

• We do not like to use floppies to boot and install

• We do want to install on modern hardware

• We like eye candy
