Warpstock 2008 open for registration
Each year, users of the IBM OS/2 operating system gather for the Warpstock conference. This year's conference will be held on the campus of the University of California at Santa Cruz from August 15 17, 2008. Complete information about the conference is available on the Warpstock web site: http://www.warpstock.org/.
Also known as OS/2 Warp, IBM OS/2 was created by Microsoft and IBM and was sold by both companies. OS/2 was withdrawn from marketing in December, 2005. OS/2 availability continues under the eComStation brand name. Current software for eComStation includes the Firefox web browser, OpenOffice.org office suite and OAMP, a combination of OS/2, Apache web server, MySQL database and PHP web application.
UC Santa Cruz is often cited as one of the most beautiful college campuses in the world. The physical setting combines award winning architecture with the natural surroundings of redwood forests and the Pacific Ocean.
